I do this for literally everything! Essentially, you are picking a vibe and style. Think about what kind of shoot you want to set up. Is it going to be a wedding styled shoot, elopement, family session, etc? What color outfits do you want?
Some examples of past shoots I have done:
-western/boho wedding
-classic wedding
-picnic proposal
-date night picnic setup
If you have a venue you have been dying to shoot at, reach out to them and see if you can set up a styled shoot there! It doesn’t hurt to reach out to anyone and everyone when it comes to this because the worst they can say is no. You can also use public parks, locations, etc but you some may require a permit so be mindful of this.
Once you have the time and location setup, start reaching out to local vendors. I was shocked when I started doing this at just how many people in my community wanted to be apart of my styled shoots. It is great for forming connections and promoting other brands. This is also perfect for creating vendor lists for your clients, especially if you are servicing brides.
Lastly, you can create an event in Ticketleap if you are wanting to sell your tickets. It is super simple and you can create posts with your link so people can purchase and attend your event. If you don’t want to sell your tickets, you can post your event in Facebook groups, on instagram, etc and let other photographers come. I would just recommend capping it out at a certain number of people so it isn’t too overcrowded.
